HORSE RACING IN MONTANA:6

Western Montana Fair

Race nine was for Thoroughbreds three year olds and upward over 5 1/4 furlongs.

The winner was an Arizona horse, No. 4 'Desert Launch' ridden by Russell Kingrey, owned and trained by Daniel J. Young and bred by James E. Randle. Second was No. 7 'B.S. Smoked Duck' and third No. 6 'Real Ringer'.

 As they cross the finishing line for the first time, the leader is No. 4 'Desert Launch' (Russell Kingrey), followed by  No. 1 'Tougher Still', No. 7 'B.S. Smoked Duck', No. 6 'Real Ringer' and No. 5 'Nalee's Classic'.
The winner is No. 4 'Desert Launch', a 6 year old chestnut horse ridden by Russell Kingrey.

The final race of the day was a Thoroughbred race for three year old and upwards over six and a half furlongs.

Winner was Washington state horse No. 4 'B. B. Max' ridden by Carl Hebert, owned and bred by Merle Lorentz, trained by Mark Buckley. Second was No. 2 'Totem's Aly', third No.1 'Lucky Bounty'

  On the first lap of the track, No. 4 'B. B. Max' (Carl Hebert in yellow) pulls away from No. 5 'R Easy Money' (Roger Butterfly in black) and No. 6 'Clever Legend' (Terrance Birdrattler in orange)
 As they round the final bend, the leader is still No. 4 'B. B. Max' (Carl Hebert in yellow) who pulls ahead of No. 2 'Totem's Aly' (Ivan Ortiz, Jr. in white) and No. 5 'R Easy Money' (Roger Butterfly in black)
No. 5 'R Easy Money' (Roger Butterfly in black) looks back towards No. 6 'Clever Legend' (Terrance Birdrattler in orange) Once again the winning horse is No.4, this time around 'B. B. Max', a 7 year old bay horse ridden by Carl Hebert

Thus ended a very enjoyable day in Missoula. We had bet and won a little, lost slightly more (sorry Val!), but came away very happy.
